Although exact dates are hard to pinpoint in terms of when Beyoncé’s relationship with Jay-Z began, many thought it was around 2002. However, Bey herself told a US magazine that the two met and started dating as early as 1999!

In 2002 Jay-Z and Beyoncé first collaborated on the track Bonnie and Clyde. The song was a huge success and made the top ten in the US billboards.

The loved-up couple joined forces again in 2003 with Crazy in Love - which went on to be one of the best-selling singles of all-time.

It wasn’t until 2004 that the couple made their first ever red carpet appearance together at the MTV Video Music Awards.

In 2007 after eight years together the couple finally got engaged, although - as expected from the private couple - details of the proposal were never released and hardly acknowledged. The giveaway however was the enormous rock on her finger!

A year later on the 4 th of April, the two were married in a small private ceremony in New York. Beyoncé’s dress was designed by her mother Tina and the pair had the number 4 tattooed on their wedding fingers. Hello Mrs Carter!

In 2011 Beyoncé attended the MTV VMA awards and announced her pregnancy by showing off a sweet little baby bump!

A whole nine months on and little Blue Ivy Carter entered the world. The king and queen of hip-hop tried to trademark the name but were unsuccessful.

To celebrate the couple’s four-year wedding anniversary, the two renewed their vows. This time the ceremony was much bigger and a few days later Jay-Z was seen sporting a new gold ring on his wedding finger.

In June 2013 rumours began surfacing that Beyoncé and Jay-Z could be expecting their second child.
